Georeferencing shapefile to shapefile

I have contours and know points taken in the field. Can I some how georeference a line to the point and update and all the contours move respectively with the move instead of just the one contour line? Is there a way to do this?

perhaps the vector equivalent of georeferencing.... aka spatia adjustment
