Selection Widget Updated Version

There really isn't one that is like ArcMap besides this one, that is no longer maintained. The closest is the eSearch widget that I have been maintaining for years now. http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=5d4995ccdb99429185dfd8d8fb2a513e

So, what is an alternative for selection widget? I just want to have similar utility as select (location, attributes) in arcgis desktop.

The original developer is no longer updating this widget. I don't use the widget. I doubt that the Flex team is considering this as an addition to the core widgets.

At the bottom of the SelectionWidget.xml there is an <info>widgets/InfoTemplates/InfoPopupWidget.swf</info> tag.

Make sure it is set to the correct path to your .swf file (remember, it is CaSe sensitive).

If that doesn't work, what does the rest of the error message say?

Thank You rzufelt. I had to change InfoTemplates folder, as You told. Default installation folder was:

widgets/InfoTemplates/InfoPopupWidget.swf

but on my server it really was:

widgets/InfoPopup/InfoPopupWidget.swf

Now works without any errors. Thanks!

I believe you need this infopopup widget for it to work. See attachment.

I added this widget, then I added to my project, enabled it. And still error appears.
Do I have to configure InfoTemplate in xml additionally?

It is strange, error appears first time I run Selection widget. When I turn it off, then on error doesn't eppear.

PS. Except error widget works fine, but error makes me irritated.

I am trying to get the selection outline color to match that of my eSearch widget. The coding is very similar, but does not seem to work correctly in the SelectionWidget.

If I don't change it in the config.xml or hard code in the mxml, I get the default browinish color. If I change it in the config.xml or the mxml, it turns to a green color, no matter what I set it to (red, black, white, etc. always is the same green color). In the eSearch widget I set it to 0x00FFFF and get a nice light blue outline.

Has anyone figured out how to make this change "take effect" in the SelectionWidget?

As you might have noticed this widget is no longer maintained. You would be better off using the eSearch that has about all the functionality that this widget has and more.

i cant get that one to work right. i have tried. guess i will focus on it more, but i cant get it do do more than one "level" of a query. need like to select diameter and material and date and i can only get it to do one of things

Also does anyone know how to get the Export to use the DOMAIN VAULES???

i still don't have the date fixed on the exported data. it looks good in the query, but the export still has the "EPOCH" date. Any suggestions???
