I am a relatively new user processing ascii files for my local archaeological society. Since renewing my licence my desktop will not save hillshade images and reverts back to raster image (this is on 10.2). I am also getting a message when i log into arcg

I am a relatively new user processing ascii files for my local archaeological society. Since renewing my licence my desktop will not save hillshade images and reverts back to raster image (this is on 10.2). I am also getting a message when i log into arcgis which reads 'reading MXD for configuration information'. Be most grateful for any suggestions on how to correct this. David M.
