Unable to open map Invalid response

Created a new offline area. It said that the area created successfully. I am able to rename the area. But then if I try to open it I get: Unable to open map Invalid response

I have developer logging turned on and there's nothing in the log files. The last logged item is just "The map download completed successfully".

Anybody know what this might be about?
