Field Alias is not being picked up by mobile devices.

I have a feature service where I changed the Field Alias column. When opening on an iphone/ipad and android tablet I noticed that the field alias that I used were too long so I shortened the field aliases. The changes carry over when editing in AGO but the changes did not carry over to my devices. I know the map is saved and when I click on the information button next to the editable map I working with (on the device) it correctly reads when the map was last updated.
