Tim,Did you attempt my previous suggestion of moving to ArcPad 10.0 SP3? Please let us know if this issue persist and the upgrade doesn??t resolve the issue.
Just finished installing ArcGIS 10 and ArcPad 10 and am having the same problem trying to export data from ArcMap 10 to ArcPad 10. It shuts everything down.
Thank you all for your feedback on ArcPad & the ArcPad Data Manager in particular. On behalf of the ArcPad Team, I would like to let you all know that the ability to check-out your ArcPad project to a network location will be included in the next release. Thanks again,Hannah Ferrier, Mobile GIS SpecialistMaptel Pty.Ltd.
Transferring files is not a huge problem. Not being able to export symbology is! I have a geologic map with about 250 units in it!Come on ESRI, fix it.
I've noticed that I cannot export to a network drive (with or without spaces in the path), but can always export to a local drive (with or without spaces in the path). Whenever I attempt to export to a network location, ArcMap will crash and shut down. When I check the network location, all of the files are there (axf, shapefiles, etc), EXCEPT the APM file.My temporary work-around is to save to a local directory, but hopefully ESRI addresses this in an upcoming patch.
So far nothing from ESRI which is surprising since they usually have a good response. Sometimes I think ArcPad is their red headed stepchild. I do manually transfer files but find it frustrating that I have to do so.
