Serial GPS for Java SDK Version 100.0.0

This would be a great addition to the new Java Runtime SDK. In my line of work there are dead zones in the countryside and in order for me to drop 10.2.4 I would need a class that easily scans a com port and picks up the gps string. Do any of you know when or if this will implemented in the current runtime? My 10.2.4 application is running but I would like to modernize it somewhat and simplify the code even though I am happy with the performance.
