Evaluate polyline geometry for continuity

I have a tool that trims stream polyline features based on polyline geometry derived from the freehand polygon draw tool. Basically it deletes and trims everything in the freehand polygon geometry. But I don't want to leave a stream polyline non-contiguous by deleting a chunk in the middle. Is there a way to check if a polyline geometry is contiguous? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
