I'm trying to put together a tool that will allow us to trace road features, painting a graphic on top of the features that will be used as a query envelope in subsequent analysis. Does anyone know a good way to set up a tracing tool that would both allow for snapping (I'm thinking of using the geometry engine "nearest vertex") and also override the provided drawing gestures so that the line would be rendered as the mouse is moved instead of requiring a series of clicks?
Am I totally off base?
