COGO and different coordinate systems

I am trying to edit a parcel that is in in WGS_1984_UTM_Zone_11N. The survey from which I will be basing my edits off of was done in State Plane NAD 83 Zone 5. This is causing issues when I am entering data into the COGO tool. Does anyone have any suggestions?
