Required Field for attribute inspector

Is there a way to make the attribute inspector component set required input fields?
Anything that would give me a similar result as using the following:

    <mx:Form>
        <mx:FormItem label="ZIP Code" required="true">
            <mx:TextInput id="zipRequired" 
                width="100"/>
        </mx:FormItem>
    </mx:Form>

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
