ArcGIS Forms has evolved significantly and is now a great alternative to Survey123 for many Field Maps workflows. Features like the new Attachment elements have made it possible to build much more capable inspection forms.
However, one important feature is still missing: Signature capture.
Many inspection, maintenance, handover, and acceptance workflows require a signature from the inspector, contractor, customer, or asset owner. At the moment, this requires switching to Survey123, even when ArcGIS Forms would otherwise be the preferred solution.
Adding a Signature element to ArcGIS Forms would allow organizations to:
- Capture inspector or customer signatures directly in Field Maps.
- Complete inspection and acceptance workflows without leaving ArcGIS Forms.
- Reduce the need to maintain separate Survey123 forms solely for signature collection.
- Simplify field workflows while keeping all data in the same feature layer.
As ArcGIS Forms continues to gain functionality, signature capture feels like one of the last major gaps preventing it from replacing Survey123 in many inspection-based use cases.
A signature element similar to the one available in Survey123 would make ArcGIS Forms an even more complete solution for field data collection.
