ArcGIS Pro Layout - Wrap text in field headings on table frame

I can see how to wrap the text in individual cells within fields in a table frame on a layout on ArcGIS Pro. But I can't see how to wrap text within a field heading. See screenshot of my table frame below, all 3 of those columns could be a lot narrower if the field heading could wrap text.

From the screenshot on this article - https://www.esri.com/about/newsroom/arcuser/ten-tips-for-tables-in-layouts - it appears to be possible, but I can't see how to toggle the option anywhere! I am using ArcGIS Pro 3.6.1. Any help much appreciated!

ArcGIS Pro table frame headings actually DO support word wrapping. The word wrapping just applies to the whole column, not the heading specifically which I think causes the confusion. In this case because the headings are longer than the data in the column, you wouldn't notice.

To do this select one or more table frame columns in the Contents Pane. In the Element Pane for the table field properties choose Enable Word Wrapping and set the width you'd like the column to be.

ArcGIS Pro table frames currently do not support word-wrapping column (field) headings into multiple lines—headings are drawn as single-line text, so long headings force wider columns.

Here are some workarounds you can try:

- Shorten the header text by changing the field alias (this affects the source layer/table).

- If you need custom multi-line headers, Convert To Graphics and then edit the header text manually (note: this breaks the dynamic link so future data changes won’t update automatically).

Thanks. Neither of those workarounds really work for me, unfortunately. The article I linked to clearly appears to have word-wrapped field headings in table frames. Would they have been from converting to graphics?

Likely so - converting to graphics will allow you to do a multi-line header but you then the Table Frame loses the connection to the data.

Or this workaround would work too - Overlay the header with a manual multi-line text box (layout-only)

Layout: Insert > Graphics and Text > Rectangle text
Place it over the header; set background to white to hide the original header text
