ArcGIS Indoor Viewer App Upgrade

Hello,

My organization is currently on Enterprise 11.4 and we are wanting to upgrade to 12.1 but I can't seem to find any info regarding the Indoor Viewer App and the retirement of Configurable Apps.

Configurable Apps will not be available in 12.1 but the Indoor Viewer App is a Configurable App in 11.4. I have seen that starting in 11.5 the Indoor Apps were moved to a Indoor App Gallery.

My question is, will my existing Indoor Viewer apps continue to work after updating to 12.1 because they were created via Configurable Apps or will I need to recreate them?

Hi @KevinDohner, you can create new apps and access all existing apps from the Indoors Apps Gallery. You do not need to recreate existing apps that were created using the Configurable Apps template in earlier versions of Enterprise.

To my knowledge, it being working with a few others who have used 12.1, you'll more than likely need to recreate the apps. I believe that even if the apps continue to work, the lack of support of configurable apps will cause the app to fail in the future with either patches or future version releases.

On the safe side, I'd say it's probably good to recreate the apps and then upgrade to 12.1.
