Editor Widget: Can't Add Related Records for Attribute only

Question

I can't use the Editor widget to add related records to an attribute only table. The form is configured correctly in map viewer. (Editor.png)

The "add records" section just disappears in the Attribute Only Editor widget-so there's no way to add the repeat records. (Editor1png)

The Attribute with geometry option in Editor just shows my related polygon feature layer. So there's no access to that parent non-spatial table. (Editor2.png) In my polygon feature layer, I can add records to the related table... (Editor3.png).

I essentially created a whole series of surveys and databases for a grant monitoring program, with the expectation that I'd be able to create an app to manage the records... not realizing I'd get stopped here...

I guess I can add the other tables to the list and manually populate the Global ID from the parent to the GUID field of the repeat.  😑

Data structure: I have a non-spatial table with two seperate relates: a related non-spatial table and another related polygon feature layer (and that polygon layer has it's own related table). All with the correct relationship classes - I'm very comfortable with that.

Anyone have a solution???

What you mentioned about not being able to edit non-spatial tables in “Attribute or Geometry” mode (unless they’re related to a spatial parent) is what I was trying to get at earlier.

It sounds like you’re attempting to create related records from a non-spatial parent, which unfortunately isn’t supported in the Editor widget — as you’ve already identified.

At that point, the options are to introduce a spatial parent layer to anchor the relationship, or move this workflow into something like ArcGIS Survey123, which handles related records more effectively.

What you've described for your workflow is normally what I do too. I am comfortable with using the Editor widget for editing and adding related non-spatial records with a related spatial layer, by selecting the spatial record from the map or table - or using the create and selecting the template.

You are correct that these are non-spatial tables. I am trying to create a non-spatial parent and it's non-spatial related records by using the form and clicking "Add Record". However, it's quite easy to select a record from a table and for it to open up in the editor. So that is the start to create or edit a non-spatial record, and with Attribute only Editor mode. You cannot edit non-spatial tables when in "Attribute or Geometry" Mode (unless it's a related record with spatial record as parent).

We can create and edit non-spatial records (without connection to spatial records) this way in the Editor Widget. However, we cannot create related records off of non-spatial parents.

This feature layer actually has a related spatial layer however, it is an "aunt/uncle" vs a child or parent - and it's not relevant to the context of this particular part of the workflow.

I have an Experience Builder (EXB) app where I edit two non-spatial related tables. These tables are also related to a spatial layer displayed on the map.

Your contract enhancements are configured under the main layer, as shown in your Editor screenshot. Because of this, you need to click a feature in the spatial layer on the map to open the related enhancement table, where you can create new records or update existing ones. This is how it works in your Editor 2 and 3 examples.

It sounds like you may be trying to edit a table that isn’t spatially linked on its own, so it doesn’t appear on the map. As a result, there’s nothing to select or use as a starting point for creating or editing records.
