REDMI Phones & Survey123

Question

Hi,

I am having issues with some of our Surveyors who are using Survey123 online with their RedMI phones, all were having issues , Primarily thier forms wont submit.

1. Has anyone had this problem before?

2. What is the Fix?

* Update Survey123 to the latest version available from the Google Play Store.
* Ensure the device has a stable internet connection when submitting records.
* Check that battery optimization/power-saving settings are disabled for Survey123, as Xiaomi's MIUI can restrict background processes and network activity.
* Verify there is sufficient device storage available.
* If attachments (photos, videos, etc.) are included, try submitting a record without attachments to see if file size is causing the issue.
* Have users sign out and back into Survey123 and, if necessary, re-download the survey.

I've never heard of REDMI phones before, but at least one model on Amazon states

so, maybe that's your problem? Also, Google says "Redmi phones currently use Xiaomi HyperOS , which is based on Android, replacing the older MIUI interface. Newer models (2023-present) run on HyperOS, while older devices may still run MIUI 14. Some ultra-budget models (Redmi A series) may use Android Go.". As far as I know, S123 only runs on iOS and Android, so maybe 'based' on Android isn't compatible. Or they're disconnected from the internet, in which case they could submit when connected.
