we’re currently running into an issue with charts in ArcGIS Online, specifically in Dashboards and Experience Builder.
Line breaks using <br> (as well as \n or other line break characters) are no longer rendered in:
chart axis labels
legend item labels
chart descriptions
Instead, the tags are displayed as literal text (e.g. <br>).
Recreating the chart or switching from layer-based charts to data expressions doesn’t change the behavior.
We rely on line breaks to properly structure long category labels, especially in stacked bar charts, and to visually separate or indent legend items and explanatory text below the chart.
Questions:
Is this a known change introduced with a recent ArcGIS Online update?
Is there any supported workaround to create multi-line labels in charts?
Is this limitation by design, or is an enhancement planned?
