I am using the measuring piece to calculate sq ft of asphalt that was laid on a road with some incline. I was wondering if when calculating the sq ft if collector takes into consideration the elevation change?
No it does not. At least not with Standard ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
Had the same question ourselves.
So I did it the easy way and brought in 2 foot contours. I then split the centerline at each contour. I then used a simple hypotenuse formula to calculate the actual centerline length based on a 2 foot change in elevation. The multiplied the calculated length with the width of the asphalt at each segment. then multiply length by width
