Akamai and secured services with AGOL

I wanted to poll the community and see if there are organizations that are ramping up their web security with Akamai. The issue that I am experiencing is a failure registering a secured web service from my on-premises AGS system to AGOL. Everything works as expected until the utility page is created and ends with what appears to be a communication error back to the on-premises AGS system. Any information concerning Akamai usage is appreciated.
