I am currently using a Trimble Geo7 Handheld, collecting x,y, and z values from a Trimble R2 Centimeter accuracy receiver via Bluetooth (Both units via Verizon Jetpack for internet)attached to a 6.5-foot detachable pole in the field.

Once collected I connect the Trimble Geo7 to the Desktop via Pathfinder software to place the points in a file to be accessed by ArcPro and append to a map and ultimately our database.

My question is, Is there a better way, and if so please share.

If you have access to a correction service then you can use Esri Field Maps. If you are post processing in Pathfinder Office then you will have to use Trimble TerraFlex in the field and Terra Office with ArcGIS Pro to post process.

Set up a Web Map in ArcGIS Online for use in Field Maps. Connect your Trimble to Field Maps.

You can open the map directly in Pro or export the data direct to file geodatabase.

There's a few general guides you could readily find on any of these steps.

A "better" way is going to be subjective and that depends on you and your organization's requirements. A better way for someone else doesn't mean it's going to be a better way for you. Without knowing your current workflows or business requirements, it's hard to tell you if there is a "better" way. It sounds like you might need to engage with a professional services organization (either through Esri or a 3rd party) to review your current workflows and determine if there is a better or more efficient way of doing things.

To be able to give you a good answer, we're really going to need to know more about your current workflows. For example, do you have AGOL or Enterprise? Are you able to replace your Geo7 with a mobile device where you can utilize Survey123 or Field Maps to collect data? What kind of DBs are you using?

That's really just the start of the questions, but like I said, "better" is subjective and it's going to be entirely depending on you and your organization's requirements.
