Maintain selections while editing

I will often have multiple selected features while performing an edit session in ArcGIS Pro. When I create a new feature, all of my selections are cleared (regardless of if it is the same or different feature class). In the past, I have been able to maintain those selections while performing edits, yet now that is not the case. I am not aware of any settings that I have changed, simply that the selections are no longer maintained. Any suggestions?

For the specific situation of creating a new feature while maintaining a selection, I was not able to do that. The selection would switch to the newly created feature.

For making edits while maintaining a selection, that is definitely possible. Select the features you desire, and then in the Attributes pane, you can click on and edit individual features one-by-one or edit the attributes of several features at once.
