Can anyone confirm whether or not the text that gets placed on the map when measurements are turned on in the draw widget is showing up when using the print widget? I cannot get the text on the map to also display on the map produced from the print widget. It is removed from the resulting pdf or image from the print service. Thanks.
Hi @JasonMcKeefry ,
This should not be a print service issue.
We found another bug that may have caused this issue, which was fixed in today's update.
Can you try it if you have time?
If this bug is still reproducible, can you share a sample app with me? My username is she10946.
Many thanks,
Shengdi
UPDATE: I tested changing out the print service from our arcgis server print service to the one at arcgis online. It seems to work with the arcgis online print service!

Is there a way I can set up our print service to work like the one at arcgis online? Thanks.
Does NOT seem to work yet. If I draw a polyline and enable measurements, in the print, all I see is a point where the text should be. I don't even see the polyline in the print. See attached pdf produced from the print widget. You can see the pinkish point on the map with no label for the measurement and no polyline symbol. Here's what the map looks like:
The AGOL version released today should fix this bug.
Please let me know if it can still be reproduced.
Regards,
As a workaround, I tried hosting an editable feature layer at ArcGIS Online for folks to draw in features and enter the text they want to see. This layer was put into a web map with labels. After all that, the Experience Builder application still did not print the labels on this new layer. When I opened the web map in Map Viewer Classic, and went to print the map from there, the labels printed. This really needs to get fixed.
Any update on fixing this? It is a basic need that web app builder users have come to rely on. It will slow adoption of Experience Builder. Thanks.
Fantastic.
I haven't needed to print measurements much in the past, but our new web app goes online in a couple of weeks so I imagine demand will spike. This is one of those things I always assumed worked and didn't bother testing more than once after it did what I expected. At least I can tell people it will be fixed soon (tm).
This is a known API bug. I'll let you know when it's fixed.
Okay. Hold up... I was just grabbing some better screen caps to prove that was the PDF... and now it's working!

This is obviously not working reliably right now... This is the same app. No changes since my last test where it didn't work.
(EDIT: Yes, I see how ambiguous those first screen caps are now. Again, I do promise they are of the PDF, not the Web Map. These screen caps should leave less to the imagination)
Thanks!
My screen caps are from the PDF output. NOT the map. Yes, all text appears properly on the map.
...I get the text on the map, BUT NOT in the pdf or image that comes out of the Print Widget through an ArcGIS Server print service. It doesn't look like that's what you tested. Can you confirm that the text (even just for the line) shows up on the pdf or image that comes out of such a print service? Thanks.
Actually, this is likely a bug. I just got lucky and picked the one feature that actually prints properly.
Lines work. Nothing else does.
Yep, text prints.
Using stock widgets. Just tossed them in to a new app to test.
