Multiple organizations on one license manager

The company I work for recently acquired a smaller company. We have not yet combined our organizations through Esri for a variety of reasons. We would like to consolidate the concurrent use licenses for both organizations on our existing license server. Would using the transfer process detailed in this link work? Transferring licenses from one License Manager to another—License Manager Guide | Documentation (arcgis.com)

Or creating a new provisioning file with their licenses and applying it to our license manager? I'm concerned that either of these methods will create a conflict or remove our existing licenses from license manager. This is for ArcGIS Desktop Basic licenses. Thanks!
