When starting a New Project in ArcPRO 3.2 the user can no longer type in the Location field. You have to click on the little folder icon or use the new drop down menu. Why add another click and another step? Bring back the ability to type a New Project location in the Location field.
In ArcGIS Pro 3.6, the New Project dialog no longer allows users to type or paste a project “Location” path directly. The only options are to select a recent location from the drop-down list, or click Browse to open the New Project Location dialog.
This change slows down project creation—especially right after launching ArcGIS Pro—because the New Project Location browser can take 5–10 seconds to load and populate (depending on your system). That delay is unnecessary when the user already knows the folder path and simply wants to paste or type it in.
Previous versions of ArcGIS Pro allowed the Location field to be manually edited, with the option to browse if needed.
Request: Please restore the ability to directly type/paste a folder path into the Location field in the New Project dialog, while keeping the browse option available.
