CAD Imported Bridge Structure

I have a 3D bridge that I imported from Bentley Open Roads Designer. This could easily have been Autodesk Civil 3D as well. What I want to do is utilize the Building Explorer or the Floor Filter to turn parts of the bridge on and off. Is there a way that I can configure the bridge once I import it into a Geodatabase to be honored by those tools and let me turn things on and off? I know the phasing of the elements that make up the bridge.
