At the risk of this sound naive. It is possible to change the experience builder template when it has already been published in ArcGIS Online. Then if not, is there a way to forward the URL?

I believe once you have selected a Template. (i.e. The very first choice you make when starting an Experience Builder project.) That choice is permanent. However, if you unlock the layout at the top of the screen you should be able to make whatever modifications you need to make.
Additionally, if you have already published your Experience, you can open it up make your changes, hit Save, then Publish and your updates should be reflected on the live site.
