Is Qt Maps SDK suitable for mobile offline truck navigation app?

Hi,

We want to create Android mobile application using Qt for truck drivers for our Fleet Management System product with offline maps.

We want to provide ability to download whole Europe map into app for routing, geocoding and turn-by-turn navigation.

Is it enough to use ArcGis for Developers with Builder subscription to achieve this task, or we need other subscription?

How mobile app installations will be accounted from ArcGis side? Do we need to buy license for every mobile app installation?

I recommend looking into ArcGIS StreetMap Premium (https://developers.arcgis.com/qt/route-and-directions/add-streetmap-premium-data/), it supports geocoding, routing, and turn-by-turn navigation.

If your app is revenue-generating, then an ArcGIS Developer subscription plan at the Builder level (or higher) will be required.

Yes, you need to keep account of mobile app installations and ensure each one is licensed. For more info see: https://developers.arcgis.com/faq/#licensing-runtime-per-deployment and https://developers.arcgis.com/faq/#licensing-runtime-license-string-distributed.

The good news is that for the license, you might only need a Lite (free) license, and the StreetMap Premium license.

Alternatively if you are selling your app to organizations with existing Esri software, you may find users can get an ArcGIS Runtime license by authenticating with an ArcGIS Identity. For more info see: https://developers.arcgis.com/faq/#licensing-runtime-named-user-license-levels. The ArcGIS Identify would need to be the equivalent of a Lite (Viewer or higher) but they would also need the Streetmap Premium extension/entitlement.

Local representatives suggests lot's of expensive subscriptions. We tried to contact ESRI directly but having bad luck...

We could use HERE for offline navigation, it's much cheaper, but they don't have Qt support built-in.

ArcGis works on Qt but it's not clear how would functionality and pricing will actually look like...
