I've moved this question to the ideas board since it describes a new feature request. We are looking into the ability to add content blocks side-by-side in stories, but we do not have this feature on our roadmap at this time.

If you are interested in this feature, please upvote this idea and add a comment about how you would use this in your stories to help us understand the different use cases this feature could fulfill.
