removing layers added with "Add Data" widget

I'm using the "Add Data" widget with ExB Dev Edition 1.12. I can add a layer, choose "Add to map" from the actions and the layer shows on the map widget.

However, when I remove the layer via the trashcan icon, the layer is not removed from the map widget.

Can someone please tell me what am I missing?

in the bottom right , you can see the small delete button which will be visible once we add something via addtomap action .
