StoryMap with embedded map skipping sections

I have a StoryMap that contains multiple sections and one section has an embedded ArcGIS Online webmap application with a splash screen widget. When I scroll through the StoryMap and pause to read the verbiage the StoryMap skips down to the embedded webmap application. Is there a way to fix this behavior?
