Highlighted path turns solid on PDF.

Question

I've created a simple map with a highlighted path over a street, on a layer of satellite imagery set to 40% transparency. When I export to PDF, or write a PDF file in any way, the path turns solid.

Has anyone experienced this and/or have a suggested fix?

ArcMap has some issues going to PDF when there are transparencies set on layer(s).  Sometimes if you make sure any layers with transparency (even if not turned on) are at the BOTTOM of the TOC, it will resolve this issue.
