DOJO textbox text as input to rest api

Hi ,

I am using dojo with arcgis .My requirement is that whenuser enter text in textbox than based on text a arc gis rest api is called which will return values based on entered text .can someone provide me a detailed solution in achieving this .i am attaching the ss for reference for what i want to achieve .
