Just trying to create a walking track in ArcGIS pro by tracing a line off my base map. I just simply need to move the base map as I trace my line as my traced line (track) is many kilometres long. Once I am in edit mode and tracing I cant move the map without clicking and laying down new vertices. Im a beginner so sorry if this is really obvious.

Hold down the C key and it overrides the active tool with the explorer tool. Documentation here.

You should be able to press the middle mouse button / mouse wheel to pan the map.
