Filter Feature layer in Map by current user

i want to be able to filter a layer in a map based on the current user viewing the map and using an assigned user field, its a bit like the editor tracking functionality but the features will be created by another user but then assigned to an operator

any ideas?

Can you create a WebMap per user and then set a filter on the layer(s) to their username in the assigned field?

I don't think there is a way to use a central WebMap and use a dynamic filter per user login. Although that would be pretty cool.
