Splitting Polygon and Maintaining Attribute Error

I'm using ArcGIS Pro 2.9.1 and when I try to set the split policy within the domain tab to duplicate, it prompts me to save and then when I do I get stuck in a huge loop of pressing save and it won't go away until I eventually press cancel, negating the duplication action.

Searched the internals and did find any comparable cases to your description.  One thing to try whenever I see strange behavior like this is to rename the ESRI folder in your C:\users\<user_profile>\appdata\local and C:\users\<user_profile>\appdata\roaming to ESRI_OLD.  Restart ArcGIS Pro, load the project, repeat the workflow.  Is it the same or resolved?
