show web api in pop up in web app

I have a web api written in python flask with customer information that I would like to include in the web app's pop up window along with esri REST attributes. Would appreciate any ideas on how to accomplish this. The custom REST does have an id field that esri REST also has so maybe I could join them like sql tables?
