How to fill other than polygon area with different color in the arcgis map

Hi,

I am new to the arcgis maps(WPF).I have loaded arcgis map in my application. I have added polygon with particular state lat logns. Now I want to block out or gray out remaining area(excluding polygon area) or I want to fill remaining area with some color. Please give me some information regarding the above task

If you are just displaying the polygon as defined by points couldn't you use the approach where the background of the map is set instead of making a separate "background" polygon?

If I understood your case correctly, you need to have another polygon (outside of the state) and color that by using fill symbol.

If you have one large polygon that has the outlines of the whole area, you can draw the outlined state on top of that. Hope this helps.
