Good afternoon,
Is there a way to configure Field Maps to digitize points only at the user's current location?
Thanks
Finally heard back on the other issue.
"BUG-000179551 is currently being evaluated by ArcGIS product teams. Description: ArcGIS Field Maps does not automatically add a new point when the 'Collecting new features' setting in ArcGIS Field Maps Designer is set to 'Center the map and add a point at your location'.During this review process, the product teams evaluate the customer impact, level of effort, and potential implementation timelines. There is no guarantee that this change will be implemented; however, the product team actively monitors it, and you will be notified of future updates."
Hi @JoseSanchez,
Are you referring to using geofences, if so, then there are workflows that incorporate arcade and the creation of geometries to use as geofences when editing.
You can also change the settings in field maps to collect at the current location.
Good morning @RPGIS
I am not familiar with geofences.
Any link that explains how to " change the settings in field maps to collect at the current location. "
See these settings in the App setting section of the Field Map Designer
This is what I was thinking, but my testing shows no change in the way it handles adding point features.
This seems to center the map at your location, but does NOT add the point.
And, does not block the ability to move/add at any manual location.
Anyone actually get this to work?

Hi @RhettZufelt
I am testing Field Maps using the same values in AppSettings. When I open the map, it defaults to showing my GPS location. However, I can move the circle with the plus sign in the center to another location and then press the “Update Point” button, it created the point on a new locaiton. The feature we want to implement is to create the point at the GPS location, not to move it.
Yes, it defaults to the GPS location, but, I still have to select "Add Point", so the first part (Center the map and add a point at your location) isn't working. Only the 'Center the map' part is working, it does NOT add a point at that location.
And, am still able to move the point, even though 'Block manual location' is selected.
I even tried the 'Warn when manual location is used' setting, and can move/update the point all I want, submit it, with NO warning or errors.
So, it appears as if they have included the option(s) to do exactly what you want, but failed to make it actually work.
Hopefully someone at ESRI will see this and either point us in the right direction, or get a fix for this on the roadmap.

Good morning,
Same here I can move/update the point all I want, submit it, with NO warning or errors.
I guess this is a bug.
Looking into this more, still no word on the Center map and add point, BUT, for the Manual location options (Allow, Warn, Block) to work, you need to have the GPS metadata fields in your feature service. Then the Warn/Block options will work.
However, with the Block setting and snapping off, (and the metadata fields) the ONLY point that can be added is at the GPS coordinates.
