Automatic thumbnails for new apps (from templates)

When publishing a new app from a template in ArcGIS Online, the default thumbnail leaves a lot to be desired.

I agree with the first point, but I would like to see Web Mapping Applications automatically generate a thumbnail that shows the full extent of the map like Web Maps do, with the option to modify it if desired. To produce a number of Applications and then to have to create the thumbnails outside AGOL is very inneficient. The Feature Services and Web Maps do it, so why can't the Apps?
