Custom xml path for Python Toolbox tools

I would like to be able to specify the path to the .xml file to be used by my Python Toolbox (.pyt) for tools within the toolbox. The current setup causes a lot of clutter in the Toolbox folder.

Thank you for your submission, and apologies for the very late response. Your post was only recently redirected to the correct ideas exchange for Python/ArcPy ideas.

We will be closing this idea in favor of the idea outlined here Document Python Toolboxes (.pyt) in Source Code - Esri Community. This idea has gotten our attention as it is very popular and would address your concern by eliminating the need for an .xml.
