Ability to insert new record via attribute set grid editing where one did not exist previously for that event, or have that record grayed-out

In RCE, when editing data in an attribute set, adding a value to a particular event attribute that does not have a record present in the dynamically segmented data (which is currently indicated by a 'null' in the grid), is possible but saving the edit is blocked. It would benefit the usability of the attribute sets and the grid editing function if either (1) the event attributes that do not have a record are 'grayed-out' so as to prevent editing, or (2) allowing the user to insert a new record for that event.
