Select a feature or multiple features, hit button-get xy- a dialog opens showing the xy's of the feature(s) selected, in an easy to copy and paste values format.

This "get xy"-button should be active without having started an edit session.

I agree. This can now be done through the displayed coordinates of a recorded point, but if just ID'ing on the map by pressing with your finger, you still can't copy the coordinates that show up.
