For those of you who are interested in offsetting your carbon footprint, but don't have the real estate in your backyards to plant hundreds of trees, there's a solution! There are environmental organizations across the country (and probably the world) whose work focuses on habitat restoration. Many of these organizations are awarded grants that require some sort of match contribution as part of their project. Here's where you come in. These organizations need money for trees and volunteers to plant them! Find your local soil and water conservation districts, land trusts, and wildlife groups (or many others) to see how you can contribute. You're not only helping a great community organization, you're helping offset your carbon footprint! Good luck!
