"External sharing process failed" error when publishing a feature layer to ArcGIS Online

Question

Dear community,

I am having problems to publish a feature layer to any of my ArcGIS Online accounts. I assume it is an internal system issue. Could someone please assist? I have an urge to finish a project and I won't be able to do it until I am able to upload my files. I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.5.2

Hi Marta,

I had the same problem with my ArcGIS Online. I found a "solution" changing the data format in my profile in AGOL. I don't know if this can solve your problem. I wrote my solution here:

This error can have a few causes. Have you tried a new Pro project?

What type of feature is this, feature class? Shapefile?

Anything else you have tried?

I've seen numerous underlying issues as outlined in this article: Error: External sharing process failed

If all else fails, it would be best to connect with technical support if you are able to submit a case?
