Collector App bypasses AGS security

I have a secured service set up on our 10.2.2 Server site that is editable. I inserted it into an AGOL map and when I open the map it prompts for a username and password. When I open that map in the Collector app on iOS there is no prompt, the data just shows up and is editable. What is happening?

Did you enter credentials for the service before on iOS in the app and then when you reload the map you are not getting prompted then? We will prompt for services when the service sends the app a message that credentials are required.
