Setting event editor default scale

Hi folks, we've been having some success getting things up and running, but one seemingly minor issue: does anyone know how the default scale is set within an instance of event editor? Is it coming from the published service and that's the only source that can set it? We can't find anything in the documentation to suggest such a setting within the config file, so we are assuming it is coming from one of the layers we published.

Hello James,

The default scale (among other things) for Event Editor is defined by the extent of your configured webmap. The resource document for configuring webmaps for Event Editor can be found here: Authoring a web map for Event Editor—ArcGIS Roads and Highways Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise 

Of course, if you are using ArcGIS Workflow Manager with Roads and Highways then the scale for which your Event Editor loads would likely be defined in the LOI for your job.
