Is there a way of extracting the attribute selected in the selector and show it elsewhere in the dashboard?

Hi I am developing a dashboard and I am trying to show the attribute selected in the selector and maybe use a rich text or other widget to show what was selected. Is this possible? If yes, would you please guide me on how to achieve this. Thank you.
