Webservice security

I have a web service that resides in a secured directory.  Right now the webservice in livemaps shows it not connected. is there a way to have just that one webservice when clicked ask for username and password.

If you can do authentication, it will work fine...give it a try..i am sure it can be done. two years ago when i was new in this world, i can recall putting password for my services but i am pretty sure its doable.
