Export to GIF in data driven pages

When exporting maps to GIF, occasionally it will only export 1 data frame and no other map elements.
I'm modifying the definitionQuery of 5 layers in 5 different data frames and a text element.

I don't see any correlation, it seems to happen randomly in 1 of 8 or so exports.
