Dynamic Text Selected

If I select the dynamic text, I am not seeing the text as actually being selected. The only way I can see that the text is selected, is hover over the text with the cursor, and note that the cursor has changed shape. I would expect some sort of feedback.

Let me know if you want me to file as a bug.

Hi Ted,

Formatting text (like adding dashes between numbers) is not something that dynamic text supports. To do this you would need to populate an attribute field with the correct format in advance.

This would be a great enhancement request then, I suppose. The selected text is a problem with my map. A new mxd, has no issues. Tested and verified with Chris from Support.

Looking at the following help topic adding_text_to_a_map.chm::/00s800000017000000.htm it lists how to manipulate formatting text, but these appear to be normal text, what about dynamic text. I want to be able to put dashes in to my string, like 101-01, or 123-456-789, how does one do that?

The source dynamic text shows up with a box. Is this the expected behavior?

If I select the text, I CANNOT delete the text, the delete button on the keyboard is not working.
